Britland Tracy
May 12th, 2026

oneATELIER is delighted to announce our next Deep Studio Visit with Britland Tracy, taking place in a private studio space in the 6th arrondissement on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026.

Her work often takes a turn toward the surreal and the forensic, using anonymity, absence, the desire to be seen, and the limitations of voyeurism as conceptual underpinnings. Much of her work can be read as 'portraits' without people, wherein objects, texts, found images, traces, and interior spaces serve as revealing placeholders for their inhabitants. Each of her projects is aesthetically distinct from another and may take the form of expansive, saturated abstraction, layered monochromatic drawings, representational documentation, or artist books filled with archival images.

During this visit, she will discuss her current project and in-progress photobook, No Man's Land, a psychological portrait of masculine freedom and solitude in a mythologized art town in the far west Texas desert, which will be published at the end of this year by Pigeon Editions.

Britland Tracy (b. 1990) is an American artist, writer, and educator from the Pacific Northwest who observes infrastructures of human connection and discord through photography, text, and vernacular imagery. She has published two photobooks and exhibited at the Griffin Museum of Photography (Winchester, MA), Photographic Center Northwest (Seattle, WA), CU Art Museum (Boulder, CO), Redline Contemporary Art Center (Denver, CO), Lucie Foundation (Los Angeles, CA), Davis Orton Gallery (Hudson, NY), Rule Gallery, (Marfa, TX, and Denver, CO), Kleinert/James Center for the Arts (Woodstock, NY), and Understudy Art Incubator (Denver, CO), among other experimental and collaborative spaces. Her recent work has been supported by fellowships and residencies from the Ragdale Foundation, Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild, Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and Denver Theatre District. Her third photobook, No Man's Land, will be published in the fall of 2026. She holds a BA from the University of Washington and an MFA from the University of Colorado. Britland is also oneATELIER’s leader of the Photographic Practice CIRCLE program.
