Meet the People
We are two working artists who moved to Paris from different parts of the world and struggled with similar challenges when we arrived. We found it difficult to meet other international artists, and little context in which to build relationships and carry out ongoing, intellectual conversations about our work and ideas.
When we talked about our shared experiences we realized that there had to be more of us, perhaps enough of us to create a community! So, we founded oneATELIER.
We hope that oneATELIER will provide women artists in Paris with a much-needed friendship, as well as ongoing, productive, critical conversations. We think that the intimacy of our ateliers are the best places to have them, one at a time.

Co-Founder
Peihang Benoit
Co-FounderAfter living in the UK for many years, fate — and Brexit — brought Peihang Benoit to Paris at the end of 2019, just before the outbreak of Covid. Although she found herself in one of the world’s most important cities for artists, not having studied in France or having any prior connection to Paris meant that she spent much of her time working alone in the studio, without an artistic community to engage with. She often reflects that she wished a community like oneATELIER had existed when she first arrived in Paris.
Peihang Benoit is a graduate of Chelsea College of Art and National Taiwan Normal University. Originally from Taiwan, she spent her childhood in the United States, studied and worked in the UK, and is now based in Paris with her family.
Her practice explores time, space, memory, and identity. Through painting, she has developed a poetic and personal visual language rooted in intimate, everyday perceptions. These works are shaped by her family history of displacement, as well as her own migratory and cosmopolitan experiences.

She earned a B.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University and later joined Governor Gavin Newsom’s administration at Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), contributing to programs that generated $2.2B in private investment and more than 7,000 jobs.
Narjisse also served on the Board of the Sacramento Stanford Alumni Association. She is currently based in Morocco writing a book on the artistic legacy of her grandfather, Saïd Aït Youssef, while supporting emerging women artists through mentorship and visibility.
Social Media ManagerRosario Ayarragaray (Rochi)
Irene Calderón is a Costa Rican painter currently based in Paris. She develops her artistic practice through oil painting, focusing on the human figure, particularly the female body, approached with sensitivity, depth, and a strong attention to emotional nuance.
Rooted in her Costa Rican background, Calderón’s practice weaves together references to culture, landscape, and the quiet ambiguity of painting from a context not traditionally associated with oil painting. These tensions become central to her work, opening questions around identity, belonging, and artistic positioning.
Her work has been exhibited in Costa Rica, Argentina, Paris, Mexico, Spain, England, and Italy, and she has been represented by Reiners Contemporary Art in Marbella, Spain, and Cassina Projects in Milan, Italy.
